Imagine a semester of 6th-9th grade exploring our 740+ acre classroom in coastal Connecticut while immersed in experiential learning, outdoor adventure, and intentional community.
Steward offers a unique opportunity for high achieving middle school students to learn and adventure away from their regular school for a semester. Similar to existing high school semester schools, Steward fulfills and enhances required academic courses, allowing students to remain on-track academically. Steward’s rigorous curriculum aligns with traditional academic courses while particularly focusing on hands-on environmental science and ethics.
Students spend at least four weeks of each semester on outdoor adventure expeditions. Learning how to create intentional community with a focus on sustainable practices is at the core of our program. Students leave Steward with a stronger sense of self and are prepared to think critically, communicate effectively, organize themselves independently, and to become the leaders and stewards of tomorrow.
Steward is a program of Incarnation Camp and Conference Center, a non-profit 501(c)(3) with a 130+ year legacy of delivering life-changing education, retreat and camping programs to thousands of youth and adults from across the country and around the world each year.
